What job openings are there in nonprofit organizations in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma?
I am a speech pathologist with 22 years of experience looking to leave school based speech pathology and work in a different position. I am looking at possibly getting a Doctor of Ministry in Children and Poverty. I have worked with poverty level students for the last 15 years and love working with this population. I would love to work with this population in a different area other than the schools and it does not have to do with speech pathology if the job requires something different.

HI Alexis, You say nicest cheapest. You are going to think I am delusional, but if you have a Salvation Army in your area... why not spend a few days looking through what they have. My daugher has found and wears: Limited Arden B Cache Old Navy Express Gap Guess American Eagle Abercrombie Aeropostle Lucky Jeans 7 For All Mankind BeBe XOXO Forever 21 Versace Armani Baby PHat Among others. She only buys the clothes that look practically new. The most she spends on anything is $6.00. You can go into a Salvation Army with $200.00 and come out with more clothes than will fit in your closet. Not everything there is old, torn, or holey. Somethings are new to nearly new... and why not get the bargains where you can? What she gets is nicer than the clothes at Sears, JC Penney, WalMart or KMart... for sure. Other than that.... I hear that Old Navy is popular with high school kids as well. Why not go in and take a look... You will also have to take your lunch, as there is lots of clothes to look through. Thanks for reading. :)) PS: I should have mentioned that she is a model and does print work and commercials in Texas. It is not like she cannot afford to buy clothes at the retail stores, but she would rather spend $6.00 for a nice pair of jeans than $65.00. She spends her money on other things she wants.

Controllers -Must you get the job right after Oklahoma City?
Controllers -Must you get the job right after Oklahoma City?
I recently asked a question about going back to school for something else after getting out of the CTI program and wondered if I should do that before or after Oklahoma City. Someone said go to Oklahoma City right away and go back to school after. I was wondering if that's even possible - Can you graduate from the Academy and not accept a job somewhere as a controller right away? And when you decide to get the job later, would you have to go through training all over again?

No u don've to its just depend if ur work place have Sim or they can give u OJTI to know about Local knowledge n procedures

When you are sent to OKC, you've been hired and are on the FAA payroll. It's not like going to college where you're on your own nickle. I've never heard of anyone completing training at OKC and then going off to do something else. AFAIK, you'd have to resign and take the chance of not being hired back. If you're determined to get additional schooling, either wait till you are certified at your duty station and then attend school part time, or complete whatever schooling you need and then apply for your ATC position.
3 :
In order to go to Ok City you have already been offered and accepted a position. You can't just not go to your facility, basically quitting, after completing your training at OK City and expect to ever be rehired by the FAA. You could go to school part time after completing your training at your facility. Lots of controllers do that.

I'm sorry if I was the one who confused you. Once you're in Ok City, you've already got a job slot. The FAA will actually call you once you've graduated the CTI program..or up to a couple months before. It is said that you can turn down facilities up to two times..IE the first two choices or places they would like you to go you can turn down. But once they call you up a third time with the name of a facility, you'd best take it. They are not required to call you back at all, not even a second time. But three would be a fair number. When the FAA purchases your plane ticket to Ok City, it is kind of a round trip ticket; your final destination will be in the vicinity of your facility. What I meant by going back to school later was this: once you have your job, do evening school/classes/training or whatever it is you want to do. The FAA understands the importance of an education, especially higher education. Hope I haven't confused you further :)

Oklahoma City public schools, Who decides what is appropriate?
Oklahoma City public schools, Who decides what is appropriate?
My daughter is transitioning into an Oklahoma City public school out Sooner Start. What I am trying to figure out is who decides what is appropriate for my child? If the school decides then I guess I need a better definition then the one that in the dictionary. I was gave 3 schools to look at and I choose the one that is not the closest to my home because I felt it is more appropriate for my child. The one that is closest to my home has some problems and that is why I did not go with it. Well according to Oklahoma State law they district must reimburse you gas mileage if they can not provide transportation to and from the school that is closest to you if they cannot. How ever you can choose another school if it can provide the care and programs your child needs. Which is what I did. Now they are not wanting to reimburse me the mileage as they feel the school closest to me is appropriate enough. Even though as a parent you gave me 3 chooses so shouldn't that mean I can be the one to decide what is better for my child? Now please understand I do have the Policy and Procedure Manual for Special Needs Education in Oklahoma, so please don't message me with go read it. Because it all boils back to Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). If you need more info just let me know. THANK YOU

If you can show just cause then you have a good chance at winning here. Federal law(IDEA) trumps state laws every time because that is where they get there funding. So you have to write them a letter stating what accommodation you are needing and why. You should also state that you were given choices per the federal law as to which school would be able to provide an APPROPRIATE education for your child. I would go on to state the differences in the two school and why the closer school is not an appropriate choice for her educational needs and goals. All communication with your district should be in writing so you have a record. Every correspondence you have with the district through this process you should make a copy of. You should also put on the bottom of each letter cc: file so the district knows you are keeping them and they tend to take you a little more seriously then! Also you may need the services of an educational advocate. You will want to go to the Oklahoma Family Network who can match you with an advocate. Their site is below.

Central time zone. If you are trying to set the clock on a computer, pick the closet big town to you.
2 :
depends on if it's an elementary school, high school, or middle school. I live in OKC and ours go off (i think) between 8-9 in the morning, and 2-3 in the afternoon. Each is programmed for the school it's for tho, so times vary.
